American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Attorney and LGBTQ Advocate Chase Strangio ’04, DL ’18 Will Deliver the 2026 ɬ�﷬ Commencement Address during ceremonies on May 18. Strangio, Holocaust survivor and humanitarian Sam Harris ’58, and high school teacher Valerie Schrag will be awarded honorary degrees during the ceremonies.

First opened in 1918, the historic residence has long welcomed generations of alumni. The dedication marked the beginning of its next chapter, unveiling a resplendent renovation that transforms the 107-year-old home into a comfortable hub where alumni can relax, socialize, network, and reminisce whenever they return to ɬ�﷬.

ɬ�﷬ will celebrate the dedication of Hannah Alumni House with a ribbon cutting and community open house on Thursday, November 6. The event, themed “A Place to Return, A Place to Belong,” invites alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members to come together in celebration of this beloved space.

Each year, ɬ�﷬’s graduating class has the opportunity to recognize individuals who have profoundly shaped their student experience—not just in the classroom, but in moments of everyday care, kindness, and connection. For the Class of 2025, four exceptional individuals have been named Honorary Class Members: Peggy Elliott, Renee Bourgeois Parsons, David Stanley, and Jani Springer.

ɬ�﷬ honored the Class of 2025 with a joyful and heartfelt Commencement ceremony, held indoors for the first time since 1996 due to forecasted storms. This photo essay captures the energy and emotion as over 400 graduates from 46 states and 20 countries marked the end of their ɬ�﷬ journeys and the start of new chapters ahead.

In light of tomorrow’s forecast, we are moving the Commencement ceremony indoors to the north side of the Fieldhouse within the Bear Recreation and Athletic Center.
